Device Connectivity Software Development Kit (SDK) for Vital Signs

The Welch Allyn Device Connectivity SDK is an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) software product that is licensed to EMR providers for integration into commercially available software applications. The SDK gives developers the ability to communicate with and collect data from Welch Allyn devices including:

Once integrated with a third-party electronic medical record, the SDK will provide the EMR the ability to request, receive and parse alphanumeric observational data and error messages from these medical devices. The SDK also provides sample source code and program software that demonstrates how to display the data in the appropriate form.

Welch Allyn CardioPerfect Workstation Software System

The CardioPerfect Workstation is a PC-based Class II medical device and data management system for recording, editing, archiving, printing and exporting cardiopulmonary diagnostic records. The Welch Allyn CardioPerfect Workstation provides complete access to all diagnostic tests for each patient, for paperless documentation and improved workflow efficiency.

CardioPerfect Workstation Interface Options

Medical Diagnostic Workstation (MDW) API - Application Programming Interface that uses COM controls, giving 3rd party developers fully-automated control of the Welch Allyn CardioPerfect Workstation as well as access to the data stored in the workstation database. This kit includes documentation and sample programs demonstrating how to use the API.

CardioPerfect File Link—an add-on application with a built-in API that is included with the CardioPerfect Workstation Software. The API makes it possible to develop an interface between Welch Allyn CardioPerfect and other 3rd party systems for the purpose of exporting data files. File Link produces three types of files that can be associated with a patient’s electronic medical chart and imported into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

  • Portable Document Format (.PDF extension): Can be viewed with any compatible image/file viewer.
  • Tagged Image File Format (.TIFF extension): Can be viewed with any compatible image/file viewer.
  • Text File (.TFL extension): A form of pointer file that contains a test identification number unique to CardioPerfect. When double clicked, the MS Windows operating system will launch the CardioPerfect Workstation application and the appropriate test will be automatically selected.

Connectivity Software Kit

Welch Allyn Connex Connectivity Software Kit (CSK) is a collection of software modules that enable various Welch Allyn devices to communicate with systems such as CardioPerfect Workstations. From a supported connected device, you can do the following:

  • Send vitals information to data systems
  • Send ECG, stress, ambulatory blood pressure and/or spirometry tests to a CardioPerfect database
  • Recall patient information from a CardioPerfect database (CP 50, CP 150, CP 200 only)
  • Retrieve patient order lists from an EMR/HIS using the Welch Allyn HL7 interface, sold separately (CP 50, CP 150, CP 200 only)
